The Angelopoulos Family.

Post  FutureGreekProWrestler on Fri Aug 03, 2012 7:51 pm

Greece.... The home of champions and heroes.... So sayeth just about every person from Greece and most Greek people. Just like Mark Twain said, "Greek's do not fight like heroes. Heroes fight like Greek's." This is the creed that the Angelopoulos family lives by. The great family once worked in small farms all across the country. Living a peaceful life. Living under the safety of their own hills. Then, the Nazi's came. It was like a thunder bolt striking a rat on solid ground. At first, the Nazi's did not occupy much of Greece. But the Angelopoulos family knew what was going to happen. This was not some passover onto the next country over. On seperate ships, before the Nazi occupation came too far, the Angelopoulos family sailed across the ocean, into America, leaving with only 20% of the family still in Greece. America.... A land of bustling immigration and opportunity. Opportunity that was backed by false dreams and hopes. The Angelopoulos family upon arriving to the United States thought that they could make a living here. They, sadly, thought wrong. Although times were rough, each and every member of the family made money somehow. Living all under the same, crowded, roof, they managed to keep themselves alive. Visilius Angelopoulos, the strongest and eldest of the men of the family, ensured that each and every family member was well educated, could speak English, and worked in a good and honest job. Life was getting better. F.D.R's new plan to save the economy was working. THus the Angelopoulos family started to have a better life. They were getting good honest work, they were making money, and they even got a bigger house. Life seemed amazing. Until it all came crashing down. Visilius Angelopoulos went out for a morning walk. Then one of the ones who suffered the most during The Great Depression gunned down Visilius for the money in his pocket. It was a sad day indeed, and the flow from honest jobs and money started to stop. Visilius was the only one keeping things alive at the time. And the death of one brought the death of the family. But then, the two sons of Visilius; Demetrios and Yanni, decided that honest work wasn't enough. So they resorted to stealing and mugging. Never actually hurting someone physically, but they were making money. One day, Uncle Milto and the boys' sister, Katarina, caught on to what the boys were doing. Once confronted, they only stated that they were trying to keep their family alive. They were believed. And instead of reporting them or stopping them from doing these deeds. One thing that will always ring true to most mature minds, although it is evil, it is right. And the whole family got into the crime buisness. It wasn't until 1947 did the family get approached by a member of one of the Meditteranean crime families. They were asked for their loyalty in return for a large sum of money. The crime buisness was good, but it barely held the family together. And the thought of getting more money brought the family in for more. Years after doing the dirty deeds, the family went through much. Commiting their first murders, forcing shop owners to pay for protection... It was a lot on the family. But Visilius always said one thing that kept the family going. "Greek's are tough, and they do not give up on themselves or their families. Even if the work is hard." It was not until 1949 did something bad happen. The families lost a lot of money on a bad drug trade, and had to cut salaries.ANd when I say cut salaries, I do not mean something so minor as from making 9 dollars and hour to 8, I mean as in if you were rich due to your pay, you would become poor in a week. THe ANgelopoulos family knew this was coming. And they knew that the drug deal was going to be a bad deal. But they waited, for only one idea came through their heads. They had more money than the crime family had at this point. A LOT more. And all of the other crime members were poor compared to this family. And being the natural leaders they were, Demetrios lead the crime members into a mutiny and took everything for themselves. Yanni, though being the eldest, did not partake in the takeover due to his wild habits. Demetrios, the smartest, tallest, and strongest of the family had everything now. A great home, money, food for the family, and even an entire crime ring to protect him. But Demetrios knew the debts to be paid along with his position. And Demetrios saw only one option. City Takeover. With all of the money he would recieve, and all of the money he owes. THe debts would be paid and with a lot more money to spare. And then, Demetrios had one thing in his mind. WIth an entire takeover, he could finally end the family's turmoil. And bring the family's honor back. But in the 1950s, anything can happen. Demetrios, leader of the newly founded Angelopoulos family. What would happen to Demetrios and his quest to become the mega power in the area? What would happen to his family? Will they die? Will they survive? What of the family back in the homelands? What will become of them? We can only find out......
