/me applies bandages to his wound.
/it the civilian sits up, and says weakfully, "Th-thank you.."
/me walks towards the apartments, and opens the doors.
/it A civilian is pointing a gun toward another civilian with his hands in the air.
/me approaches the man, and attempts to knock the gun out of his hand.

Character backstory (6 lines at least detailing you character's background. Events, job, family etc and should reflect your skills):

Amber was born in Canada, where she grew up. But soon after she was born, her younger cousin Krystal was born also. Krystal's parents were killed one day, due to natural cause of a random meteor striking their house while she happened to be crawling around outside. When Amber's parents found out, they adopted Krystal into the family, and Amber and Krystal quickly became close.

In school, Amber was only a grade higher than Krystal. They went to school every day, and were straight A students. But one day, Krystal had developed a couple bullies at school, who constantly teased her. Amber, being the older one, quickly became the stronger one also. She beat up the bullies, teaching anyone not to mess with her cousin again or they'll meet the same end. She became the brawn, while Krystal became the brains. Krystal's grades stayed up, while Amber's slowly fell from not caring as much and being more concerned with being known as the 'not to be messed with' type.

Amber and Krystal became victims of the 7 hour war, years after graduation. Their parents were killed, and they traveled through town, searching for any supplies. They remained together, using their skills to help one another with survival in the war. Amber would do the fighting, while Krystal would use her brains to hack into security systems for food shelters. But soon, Combine found them, and attempted to take them back to City 18. Amber fought off the guards to give Krystal a chance to escape. Krystal ran, and she never saw her since that. Amber was beaten horribly, and thrown into many re-education centers. After about a week of being beaten by combine, she was thrown into City 18 with no idea that Krystal once lived here, and was now long gone.

From previous incidents with the Combine, she has learned that they are heartless, and understands that they aren't afraid of killing civilians. She avoids breaking the law, and tends to help as much as she can.. trying to get on the 'good side' of the Combine. She does whatever she can to survive, whether it's stealing or fighting, but makes sure not to get caught by the Combine, in great fear that she may be severely beaten again.

This gives you the extra lines needed. But you should not be just aiming for 20 lines. Remember to treat the rp examples like they would show up in game. like the "20 out of 100."

Also anyone outside of the "Cities" when they were established weren't allowed to enter the "Cities" according HL2 Canon...

His mom was killed when Rebels raided thier home for food and supply, His dad is too old for the CCA, so he is trying to get in the CWU, as for Toby, he is young and athletic, he is hoping to make it in the CCA, he knows his mom would be proud. The family now lives in C18 Dave, Toby and thier cousin John McCullin, who is a little punk. Toby and McCullin always fight. When Toby Rourke makes it in the CCA, who knows where this will end up? The dad know a bit about guns and fighting and taught his son all he could, the son has kept himself strong and fit through excersize and extra rations for being a loyalist.

Truck rolls in, carrying resistance members unknown to the guards and the nexus.
CCA.156-RGE says over radio: "Yeah, we got what looks like equipment from the outside. Check inside"
The Resistance jumps out, attacking everyone in the nexus.
CCA.156-RGE grabs his weapon, and runs through the gate, shooting down resistance members.
The onslaught is still going on, soldiers struggling to kill resistance.
CCA.156-RGE sees a the heavy weapons bunker, he runs over.
CCA.156-RGE says over radio: "Shit! close the bunker doors and try to get to the turrets! Watch out for guards!"
A melee unit runs into RGE, attempting to stab him with a knife.
CCA.156-RGE dodges and shoots him in the head with a pistol
CCA.156-RGE makes into the bunker and grabs an RPG
CCA.156-RGE runs out, and shoots the truck. Killing everyone inside.
CCA.156-RGE says: "I got it! I got the truck!"

A medic comes by and shoots the resistance member
He picks up RGE, carrying him to the infirmary
The Medic says: "Shit! we got a stab wound!"

The medic lays him on the table, removing his mask and feeding him painkillers.
He suddenly bolts up, and screams in pain
The Medic says: "Get the hell down! you're making it worse!"

Pallet Ontario. He was born poor, in a military family. His dad was was a resistance member. Killing every combine he could, he was a general. When one day, the combine attacked. They killed his father, and left him to die. Pallet had hated his father, he killed so many innocents. Pallet went on to live in the woods, becoming a natural born killer. He signed up for a Combine operation to attack resistance members, where he went on an onslaught, killing many. He has no records from his mother, nor brothers and sisters. Pallet has retired and hopes to join Civil Protection as a side job to help protect his city.

Obviously English isn't your first language, but your spelling was a bit off throughout. If it was just once or twice i'd make an exception. Next time, use a spell checker.

Character backstory
David Snider was born on December 22nd, in Scotland. and he was the second oldest of five children. He was obsessed with athletics, and he was a soccer star by the age of six. He had trouble avoiding picking on his older brother, Justin, and he was grounded frequently. In grade 5, he became a playground bully. Picking on people made him feel like the toughest kid on the playground, even if most of his time in this position was spent in the detention room.
David's bullying phase depleted once he got to college, and he managed to get medical education, learned Computer coding, and became the captain of the football team. He later joined the Military, but quit after two years.
David's parents were killed in a explosion during the Combine invasion. It was only until later he discovered his parents were killed by a human bomb, desperate to kill Combine troops in the area. David and Justin were enraged by this discovery. Justin joined the CWU in city 11, but David became harsher towards the human race than Justin.
David decided the best way to get back at the human race is to become a CCA, so when he arrived at C18, he went around asking were he could get a application.

NOTE: I would like to note that my character is the MPF-C8-04.CORE.60989 to case an example of what a Civil Protection unit does to complete his standard directives. Here, this is a color coding for the /me's, /it's, and /event text. Event text is ORANGE. /it text is CYAN. /me is GREEN.

** The night has an eerie silence to it. It's comforting, yet terrifying in the process.

** A single unit walks down the dirty pavement; a mess an enslaved Biotic should have cleaned.

** "<:: Copy that. Going to patrol in District One; Cycle One out of Three." The unit states into his handheld radio before clipping it back onto his Duty Belt.

** MPF-C8-04.CORE.60989's footsteps on the pavement echo throughout the eerie silence, he begins to shudder at how silent District One is.

** Is the Resistance planning another raid against the Metropolice Force, The unit thinks. He chuckles at the thought.

** Footsteps other than his own are heard, as it echoes in unison with his very own.

** MPF-C8-04.CORE.60989 slowly begins to draw his 9x19 USP Match out of its protective leather holster, he perks up at the sudden sound.

Jordan Bourne looked up at the poster that had the words, "Help your City to drive out the malignant! Join the Universal Union, today!". He held a paper with several paragraphs of handwriting on it, the title labeled, "Combine Civil Authority Application". He walked into the Recruitment Office, a bright and contagious smile plastered his face as he walked towards the accountant and placed the paper on the counter.

Jordan always wanted to be a police officer when he was a young boy, but never was able to be accepted for reasons unknown. In his heart, he knows he can support and help the Universal Union in many ways- he wishes to be its grindstone, sharpening it's blade.

That's only one reason. The other is; He wants vengeance. He has had a rough childhood, living in poverty with a single mother. His father died in Afghanistan. He had to work two jobs as a teenager to support him and his mother; to put food on the table. His mother had to work as a prostitute, and worked late at night. His mother later died from an STD later in her prostitute career.

He wants to beat citizens who have never felt REAL pain in there life, show them what real pain is. He lived in harsh conditions, and is glad everybody feels his pain now. He wishes to be on top, ordering the citizens and let him shiver at his presence.

Before his father died and was enlisted into the Army, he was taught basic mechanics and first-aid. He was also taught to shoot a sidearm, but hasn't fully embraced the recoil of certain weapons- but has average accuracy.

You should spend more time on the server before you make an app, because if you did you would realise that our CCA naming system is completely different then the one you described.
1. we use CCA not mpf
2. we do not use the city "c8" in our code
3. the rank goes after the division

A proper name for the character you gave would be CCA-CORE.04.60989

Now your probably like, "its just a name its no big deal," but it is. It shows that you don't fully understand how our server is run. There are a lot of differences between SoTA and other HL2 RP servers. One is that APEX isn't a division its a rank. But what is APEX higher then and what is APEX lower then? And there plenty more subtle differences besides that that makes the server very different.

It's funny because I was in the same position when I applied, I used APEX as a division when we didn't have one and I was called out for it, so I am calling you out. Its no offense or anything, just trying to help.

EDIT:Oh and according to when you joined the server you are new, actually only had an account for one day, so yea.

You should spend more time on the server before you make an app, because if you did you would realize that our CCA naming system is completely different then the one you described.
1. we use CCA not MPF
2. we do not use the city "c8" in our code
3. the rank goes after the division

Sorry for applying so early, I know I've been on the server one day, but I have a habit of doing "early applications", in which I create an application within a small time span of first joining the server. I understand that's quite annoying once you think about it, but it's a hard habit to get rid of.

Also like to note that I put that down ICly and OOCly, as for one, my character ICly does not know the ranks correctly, or the divisions and their role in protecting the inhabitants of City Eight.

Thanks for the constructive criticism. About the CCA/MPF thing, sorry about that. I'm a super admin on my own clan's server, and we use that most of the time, along with a few other servers I admin on. You just get used to it, you know? I'm the Sectorial Commander and sometimes I associate other server rules and regulations with others, my apologies. It's just instinct to associate the regulations on my server with others, but again, sorry.

And yes, to Diablo, I know the applications are CLOSED. I just wanted to put it there for safe keeping, so I understand that it gets denied because of that sole reason. Sorry to be a nuisance.

Do I have the permission to edit that small infraction?

Let's say, if the applications were open, would it be denied for a small infraction such as that? If I become a Combine Civil Authority unit, then I can fully understand the divisions and their roles in protecting the inhabitants of City Eight. I think, as a self opinion, I did fairly well with the roleplay example and the back story, as they are both fully original, other than the generic, "da rebels kild mai family and i wnt to protct evrybudy!11" back story.

I'm not going to point fingers, but I've seen worse applications on this thread that has still been accepted, none-the-less.

And yes, I am not going to deny the inevitable, my application getting denied to the application cycle being closed. I just wanted to post it on this thread to get some constructive criticism before the 'real thing'.

I KNOW this. I knew it was going to be denied the second I posted it because the applications are CLOSED.

I'm not oblivious to that, I know they're closed. But, I really could care LESS.

I posted it here for constructive critisism so when applications ARE open, then I can use said constructive critisism to improve my already denied application to guarantee an accpetion. I believe you're missing the point I'm trying to get to. Do you understand now..?

I spent my adult life working at a convenience store in New York. Hoping a better job, I was living alone in a small studio apartment. when I heard about the 7 hour war I headed to the nearest evacuation zone where the military would pick up people. I spent an entire day at a military camp until the combine relocated us to city 45. I spent a few months there but I left to city 18 because I thought it would be better there. when I got there I was suprised at the wreckage from the war. I started to walk around then I went to buy an apartment and I have been living here ever since.
